June 16, 2016
We are sorry to announce that St. Florian School will close, effective July 1, 2016.
St. Florian School has faced declining enrollment trends and financial difficulties over the past several years. To date, enrollment is at 49 students for the coming school year. Despite best efforts to restore the school to viability, finances and enrollment have not improved.
After careful deliberation on the long-term sustainability of the school, the St. Florian School Board, Marketing Team and Parent Club, recommended that St. Florian School not reopen for the 2016-2017 school year. This recommendation was reviewed and endorsed by Fr. Robert Marchwiany, Pastor of St. Florian, Bishop Joseph Perry, as well as the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office of Catholic Schools and the Archdiocesan School Board. Archbishop Blase J. Cupich has accepted the recommendation. As a result, St. Florian School will close.

The St. Florian School community is planning a summer event to celebrate the rich history of the school. St. Florian School has provided a superior education to generations of young men and women helping them develop intellectually, physically and spiritually. The legacy of the school will live on through the actions of all of us.
We commend the dedicated leaders, faculty and staff of St. Florian School for their tireless work to instill a rich Catholic identity into an academically excellent community.
