  • Calumet City Labor Day Parade: September 7, 2015. 9 a.m. lineup for participants
  • Back to School night: September 10, 2015. Meet the teachers. Meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. Two break out sessions are scheduled with teachers starting at 6:30 p.m. (K and PK not expected to attend, Mrs. Bertrand will be at a training in the evening.)
  • October 2, 2015 PK and K to visit the Apple Orchard.
  • Bishop Perry to visit St. Florian on October 2, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

            Welcome back to the 2015/2016 School Year! I am excited that we will be working on having a great school year ahead. I really hope to get to know you better and work with you so that St. Florian may provide a quality education to your child/children.

            Every month a newsletter will go out like this one. Please make sure to sign and return the brown envelope, as well as any important documents that come inside of it.

Tuition: Please remember, paying tuition and fees keep us open. In order to qualify for the free tuition drawing, all fees must be paid in full. This includes registration, book, and all tuition must be paid to date and by September 15, 2015. Please pay on time!

Football Mania: Sell those raffle tickets! The school makes $14.00 off each of the $20.00 tickets that are sold!!! Please be sure to sell them. Every money raised can be put toward your fundraising fees.

Virtus Training: All new parents/volunteers/supporting people MUST have Virtus training. We are incredibly fortunate that there is a VIRTUS training located at St. Anne of Lansing on August 25,2015. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS!!! It is so close. In order to go on field trips, every adult MUST have Virtus training!

Sacramental Prep: If your child is looking to receive first holy communion (grade 3), reconciliation (grade 2), or Confirmation (grade 8), you MUST sign up in the Parish office with Ms. Peg Gadus. Please see the rectory with further questions.

ATTEND MASS REGULARLY! Please be sure to attend Mass regularly for the sake of your child/children’s Faith formation. God is great!!! If he brings us to it, he can bring us through it! Make God an important part of your life. Attend Mass:

Saturday Evening: 4:00 p.m.

Sunday 8:00 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. (English)

Sunday 11:00 a.m. (Spanish)

Classes that have 75% or higher attendance at Mass will receive an incentive by Christmas. Sign in with Ms. Peg Gadus.
